VideoAssisTech, based in Italy,  was founded in year 2000 by a group of video assist professionals and cinematography enthusiasts.

In 2003 the company launched a professional RT&L (real-time & live) digital pre-visualization unit which set the standards in VFX previsualization aimed at controlling feature film and commercial productions: Cockpit2.
Starting with Cockpit2, the COCKPIT logo has begun to mean total control in the video world.
In 2005 VideoAssisTech proudly received appreciation from the university of Los Angeles UCLA when, upon invitation, it participated to a 6 month MBA project of the Anderson School of Management.
In 2007 the first software-only product was launched: CockpitCUBE, aimed at video assist professionals active in the cinematography industry.
The same software platform is the basis of the company’s first consumer-aimed application: MOVIECockpit, launched in 2008.
Videoassistech employs video engineers and software developers who have extensive knowledge of the motion picture production process, be it film or video (SD and HD). Present R&D is aimed at developing innovative software applications for dealing with live video  (multicamera acquisition, video processing, web streaming).

VideoAssisTech is sponsored by a local foundation - Torino Wireless - active in the ICT world; it is supervised by the Boella research institute of Torino University and constantly hosts interns from the Politecnico of Torino.
